"Do not, my friends, become addicted to water. It will take hold of you, and you will resent it's absence" Immortan Joe, Mad Max Fury Road

“Do not, my friends, become addicted to water. It will take hold of you, and you will resent it’s absence” Immortan Joe from Mad Max Fury Road.

It’s on Netflix, and if you’ve got a spare 2 hours and in the mood for war rig sized metaphors with plenty of explosions I recommend it. It’s strange how back when Mad Max was originally written, in 1979, it was one of those dystopian warnings.

Now, it’s more of a prediction.

Women and children being treated like possessions. Basic needs like clean water being treated like luxuries. A megalomaniac focused only on what he deems his own possessions…

…or maybe it’s the news?
