"Return of love, more blest may be the view" Sonnet 56 by Shakespeare.

“Return of love, more blest may be the view” Sonnet 56 by Shakespeare.

Sonnet 56 carries on the theme of the young lover, the Youth as a lot of people call him, and Shakespeares longing for them. It picks up and echoes the sentiments of Sonnet 52, of longing and parting. I’m useless at working out the dates but I like to think that “Romeo and Juliette” romance was some what influenced by this. “Parting is such sweet sorrow that I shall say goodnight till it be morrow” after all.

Anyways, Belov’d and I are in our permanent residence here in Cork now. We (read that as “he”) have been putting up IKEA shelving, and finishing the unpacking. Soon we shan’t be living amongst cardboard boxes. Not long now. It’s funny how completely unpacking and settling into a new home can really brighten your spirits.
